Stanley Shapiro
Secretary
Except for three years spent as a study director for a marketing research firm, the rest of Stan Shapiro's professional life was spent as a university professor of marketing and as an academic administrator. He taught after graduation at the Wharton School for three years, at McGill for thirteen years and at Simon Fraser University for nineteen years. Five of the McGill years and ten at Simon Fraser were spent as Dean of their respective Business Schools.
Upon moving to Salt Spring in 1997, Stan became fairly active in the community having served during the subsequent twenty years on the Boards of Salt Spring Literacy, Salt Spring Community Education, the SSI Library at the time the new building was built, the PARC Board, the two recent Incorporation Study Committees and the Local Trust Committee's Advisory Planning Commission.
Stan is looking forward to what he shall consider his last great organizational challenge.
