Mike Garside

Mike & his wife Susan have been residing on Salt Spring Island for 34 years where they have raised their family of 2 boys. He was born & raised in Saskatchewan.
Mike has worked in the insurance industry on the island for 28 years. His insurance career began with SGIO in Saskatchewan and he has also worked for as an insurance adjuster in Alberta & in BC for ICBC.
Other work through the years includes 10 years in the ski industry employed at the Lake Louise ski resort, instructor for the Outward Bound Mountain School in Keremeos & child care worker for Nanaimo Youth Services. Mike has a diploma in community recreation programming through Langara College.
Current Interests include skiing, tennis, cycling & swimming.
Mike looks forward to working with the GISRA board.
